Cell symbiosis therapy: Focus on the intestine and mitochondria

Cell Symbiosis Therapy®, developed by Dr. Heinrich Kremer, is a therapeutic concept primarily used to treat chronic diseases. The goal is to regenerate cell function and regulate mitochondrial function. Since a healthy gut is of utmost importance for this form of therapy, Cell Symbiosis Therapy® is often combined with intestinal cleansing (also called intestinal symbiosis control), which specifically introduces and “feeds” those bacteria that are reduced or virtually absent.

Areas of Application

According to Dr. Heinrich Kremer, typical illnesses and stresses for which Cell
Symbiosis Therapy® should be considered are:malabsorption, and maldigestion

  • Contamination with industrial toxins such as heavy metals
  • Chronic inflammation
  • Chronic infections
  • Electrosmog
  • Nutritional disorders and disorders of the digestive organs such as malabsorption, and maldigestion
  • Immune deficiencies
  • Deficiencies or unmet increased need for micronutrients
  • Stress and psychological strain

The concept of Cell Symbiosis Therapy® (CST)

The CST concept was developed by Dr. Heinrich Kremer in collaboration with the International Therapist Network (ITN) and its founder, Ralf Meyer (HP). It is based primarily on many years of scientific research and the resulting knowledge about the role of mitochondria, the powerhouses of our cells. Today’s lifestyle diseases are systemic and organ-specific mitochondrial diseases (although this is not yet recognized by evidence-based medicine). Early symptoms of mitochondrial inefficiency and impaired performance include burnout and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS).

Basis for physical, mental, and spiritual health.

The basis of Cell Symbiosis Therapy®  is that the maintenance of function of all cells and organs depends, among other things, on the balance between

  • Cell performance and cell division,
  • Cell damage, cell inflammation, and cell repair, and
  • Cell death and cell renewal

as well as the necessary supply of micro-macronutrients and a functioning detoxification and regulatory system.

According to Cell Symbiosis Therapy®, chronic diseases can primarily arise from potentially increasing disturbances in cellular function, which are controlled by mitochondria. From the perspective of CST, the following can contribute to or result from cellular dysfunction:

  • Chronic inflammation
  • Deficiencies or unmet increased needs for amino acids, trace elements, minerals, vitamins, polyphenols
  • Contamination with industrial toxins such as heavy metals
  • Nutritional disorders and disorders of the digestive organs (such as malabsorption, and maldigestion)
  • Immune deficiencies
  • Chronic infections
  • Stress and psychological strain
  • Electrosmog
  • Gene mutations

We believe that CST enables a therapeutic approach that, following a detailed medical history and laboratory diagnostics, holistically aims to improve/optimize mitochondrial function and structure, and thus cellular and metabolic performance. The body’s self-healing powers are intended to be activated, allowing the body to focus on stabilizing and regenerating its own systems, and/or allowing conventional medical therapies to become effective again.

The CST treatment concept is multicausal and holistic. It encompasses both therapy and prevention—that is, the restoration and stabilization of health, followed by a sustained, holistic health concept in which therapist and patient work hand in hand.

Fundamental to CST therapy is the compensation of micro- and macronutrient deficiencies for the maintenance, stabilization, and regeneration of cellular systems, nutrition, and intestinal health as well as detoxification.

The components of Cell Symbiosis Therapy®

  • Mitochondrial Support Focuses on restoring optimal energy production within cells by improving mitochondrial function

  • Nutrient Replenishment Uses tailored blends of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and enzymes to correct deficiencies

  • Lab-Based Personalization Therapy is customized using detailed lab tests (blood, urine, stool, saliva) to guide treatment

  • Intestinal Health Addresses gut function with anti-inflammatory diets and targeted supplements to rebalance the microbiome

  • Detoxification Eliminates toxins like heavy metals and chemicals through oral or IV detox protocols

  • Cell Regulation Aims to restore balance in cell division, repair, and immune response by supporting cellular communication

  • Holistic Approach Considers physical, mental, and environmental factors to treat the whole person, not just symptoms

  • Lifestyle Integration Encourages sustainable changes in diet, stress management, and overall wellness habits
